Debut v Chesterfield (a), 23.3.68, lost 0-2
The
final senior appearance of local-boy-made-good, Kenny Hibbitt, came in the
colours of Bristol Rovers, as a substitute, for Ian Hazel, against Chesterfield
– the team against whom he made his senior bow in League football 21 years
earlier – in a 2-1 Division Three victory, on 11 March 1989, establishing him
as the last former Bradford (Park Avenue) player to have appeared for a current
Football League club and setting him above any other Bradfordian in terms of
senior appearances, with 574 and, with 114 goals to his credit, was every bit
the effective, energetic and competitive goalscoring midfielder that supporters
from the North to the South of England …
